I am unique and special!
The Kindergarten children are beginning to
learn about what makes them unique. We learned that our names and our
faces are part of what makes us each special and different from each other.
We begin early literacy skills by examining
our names, learning our letters and practicing writing our names.
Children created pencil drawings of
self-portraits to represent themselves. We looked at self-portraits other
artists have created, and learned about the parts of our face. We learned that
adding details makes a picture more interesting
By looking closely at photos and in the
mirror, children independently created their own self-portraits.
