OWL Folders

We have sent OWL folders home for the first time! These are folders students helped personalize and represent our "Organized While Learning", system. OWL folders will be used to send notes, messages and forms home to parents. Please routinely check your child's backpack for their folder. When you receive this folder, please read and remove the papers and return the folder to school the next day. If there are forms to be filled out, please promptly return them in the OWL folder.
Mrs. Beaton's class will have Yellow (AM) and Green (PM) folders.

Mrs. Chohan's class will have Red (AM) and Blue (PM) folders.

I am unique and special!

I am unique and special!

The Kindergarten children are beginning to learn about what makes them unique.  We learned that our names and our faces are part of what makes us each special and different from each other.
We begin early literacy skills by examining our names, learning our letters and practicing writing our names.
Children created pencil drawings of self-portraits to represent themselves. We looked at self-portraits other artists have created, and learned about the parts of our face. We learned that adding details makes a picture more interesting
By looking closely at photos and in the mirror, children independently created their own self-portraits.
